  9.  A Risc PC style mode selector. Well what more can I say, 
  10.  you've probably seen or heard of it.
  11.  
  12. How to use it
  13. -------------
  14.  Load by double clicking as normal, the icon will then
  15.  appear on the iconbar, and depending on how the
  16.  preferences are set the palette icon will disappear as
  17.  well. The palette utility though is still resident so
  18.  any programs that use it will still function.
  19.  
  20.  When run, the application may need to scan the currently
  21.  installed modes on your system. This normally happens in
  22.  the background, but if you click on the icon with SELECT
  23.  or ADJUST, or select PREFERENCES... from the menu, then
  24.  the hourglass will appear with a percentage done 
  25.  indicator. Please be patient the scanning only takes a 
  26.  few seconds.

  28.  Clicking with SELECT or ADJUST on the icon brings up the 
  29.  Risc PC style mode selector. This operates basically in 
  30.  the same fashion as the Risc PC one. (I hope) You simply 
  31.  select the resolution and the number of colours that you 
  32.  require, click on CHANGE and that mode appears. If when 
  33.  selecting the number of the colours, the currently 
  34.  selected resolution is not available in that many 
  35.  colours, an appropriate resolution will be selected for 
  36.  you. The same happens when selecting a resolution, if the 
  37.  number colours isn't available, an appropriate number of 
  38.  colours will be selected for you.

  40.  Clicking with MENU on the icon brings up the following 
  41.  menu;

  49.  These options are as follows;
  50.  Å Info
  51.     This displays the standard program information 
  52.     dialogue box.
  53.  Å Mode
  54.     This allows you to select a mode by entering the mode 
  55.     number, or selecting from some predefined ones, just
  56.     as you would do from the Palette Utility.
  57.  Å Preferences...
  58.     This displays the preferences dialogue box which
  59.     allows you to set various aspects of the application.
  60.  Å Default Palette
  61.     This resets the desktop palette to the default, this
  62.     would be used when another application changes the
  63.     palette. 
  64.  Å Quit
  65.     This quits the application, restoring the palette
  66.     utility in the process.

  68.  The preferences dialogue box provides the following
  69.  options;

  71.  Å Show mode number on iconbar
  72.     If this is selected then the current mode number will
  73.     be displayed on the icon on the iconbar.
  74.  Å Re-position window on open
  75.     If this is selected then when the icon is clicked on
  76.     with either SELECT or ADJUST the mode selector window
  77.     appears in the bottom right hand side on the screen.
  78.     If not then the mode selector window appears where
  79.     is was before when closed.
  80.  Å Close window on mode change
  81.     When the CHANGE button is selected if this option is
  82.     set then the mode selector window is closed. If not 
  83.     then the window remains open after the mode change.
  84.  Å Remove palette icon
  85.     If this is set then the palette utility icon is
  86.     removed from the iconbar.
  87.  Å Show colours
  88.     Clicking this brings up a menu of all the different
  89.     numbers of colours that are available on the your
  90.     system. Beside some or all of them will be ticks,
  91.     these indicate that that colour will appear in the
  92.     colour selection menu in the mode selector window.
  93.  Å Show resolutions
  94.     This allows you to select which resolutions appear in
  95.     resolution selection menu in the mode selector
  96.     window.

  99.  Six buttons are at the bottom of the preferences window;
  100.  Å Change Window Position...
  101.     This is explained further on.
  102.  Å Alter Mode Menu...

  104.  Å Reset mode information
  105.     This rescans the available modes on your system. This
  106.     could be used when any extra modes are added by
  107.     loading any modules that add more modes.
  108.  Å Cancel
  109.     Cancels any changes made to the preferences.
  110.  Å OK
  111.     Sets the preferences to the currently selected ones.
  112.  Å Save
  113.     Saves the currently selected preferences. The mode
  114.     information for your system is also saved. This
  115.     means that when !Mode? is next run it does have to 
  116.     scan the available modes.

  119. The Change Window Position dialogue box

  121.  This allows you to change where the mode selection window 
  122.  appears on the desktop when to click on the iconbar icon. 
  123.  There are nine different positions to choose from.

  126. The Alter Mode Menu dialogue box

  128.  This allows you to change what is displayed in the
  129.  mode submenu on the iconbar menu. In this window there
  130.  is a list of 5 entries. The button on the left of each
  131.  of them (apart from the last) allows you to edit the
  132.  aspects of that entry. The button on the right depicts
  133.  whether that entry will be on the menu or not. The last
  134.  entry is a special one, this is the one where you can 
  135.  enter a mode number manually. Clicking on one of the
  136.  buttons on the left brings up another dialogue box.

  141.  This allows you to alter the aspects of a menu entry.
  142.  Å Mode Description
  143.     This is the text that appears on the menu.
  144.  Å Colours & Resolution
  145.     This allows you to select the mode by the number of
  146.     colours and resolution.
